Job Summary
The Brownsville Sports Park (BSP) Manager is to oversee the maintenance and operations of the Brownsville Sports Park buildings, structures, systems underground, landscaping and is responsible for leading the BSP team through coaching and mentoring. Is responsible for conducting inspections, scheduling work of others, event set-up, completing repairs. Working with broad policy and organizational guidelines to independently plan and implement projects, reports progress of major activities.

Key Functions/Knowledge/Skills
• Conducts inspections of facilities, grounds, vehicles, and equipment.
• Plans, scheduled, and oversees routine and/or preventative maintenance to facilities, fixtures, equipment, etc., oversees installations, modifications, and or upgrades. This includes athletic fields, courts, playgrounds, buildings, turf management programs, scoreboards, trails, and other athletic amenities or park related tasks.
• Creates, interprets, and implements policies and procedures for operations, monitors, evaluates, trains personnel and tracks updates.
• Assists with developing a facilities improvement plan, lifecycle replacement plan, asset management plan and evaluates to ensure compliance.
• Implements department and division plans, including proforma revenue goals.
• Performs administrative functions such as recording information, preparing budgets, controlling expenditures, compiling records, monitoring materials, and performance measures and conducts a written report and performs a presentation of findings/results/outcomes.
• Systematically evaluates programs, facilities, services, operational efficiency and effectiveness through community engagement demonstrating measurable outcomes (changes in behavior, attitude, knowledge, conditions, or skills) of resource inputs and the resulting impacts and benefits of outputs.
• Leads team to success as a servant leader. Conducts and attends staff meetings, meets with stakeholders for operations, marketing, and venue promotion. Successfully works well in groups and is a good team player.
• Attends conferences, webinars, courses to continue obtaining knowledge and skills for work performance.
• Reports hazardous, dangerous, or unsafe conditions immediately and completes necessary written reports.
• Performs other related tasks and work in emergency situations, as necessary.
Minimum Education & Experience
Requires bachelor's degree or education and training equivalent to four years of college education in Recreation Administration, Sports Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field. Requires over two years and up to and including four years in a supervisory role.

Physical Demands
Mostly moderate and fairly steady active physical exertion; may require brief periods of heavy muscular exertion, such as standing, lifting, moving, pulling, pushing, etc. Ability to exert up to 35-50 lbs. of force occasionally to move objects.
Responsibility for Equipment & Property
Responsible for assigned equipment/property used outside of office; responsible for handing out to and retrieving property/equipment from employees and keeping inventory; use of a City vehicle.
Working Conditions
Fair inside or outside conditions; exposure to disagreeable conditions is brief or otherwise insignificant; space problems; only occasional situations that place the employee in a stressful environment.
