Job Summary

Responsible for coordinating and monitoring the daily events held at the Events Center. Under general direction from the Events Center Manager, assist in supervising and communicating with the Maintenance Supervisor the personnel and operations of the facility as well as the room lay outs and duties of all personnel. Provides Events Center information to the general public.

Key Functions/Knowledge/Skills

• Must be able to read, interpret and follow work orders and procedures as necessary.
• Oversee the Events Center reservation system.
• Assist in preparing the weekly schedule for personnel.
• On Call 24/7.
• Responsible for answering City of Brownsville issued cell phone 24/7.
• Meet and greet any potential clients.
• Prepare contracts.
• Take payments and issue Receipt of payment to clients.
• Coordinate with client regarding the room lay out.
• Under the supervision of manager - assist with development of related policies and procedures.
• Assist manager in keeping track of budget.
• Maintain and submit P-Card transactions.
• Maintain and submit payroll information.
• Assist manager in preparing quarterly reports.
• Maintain and submit new employee information.
• Maintain and submit request for personal days, vacation days, sick days and Holidays.
• Maintain and order office supplies as needed.
• Performs additional related duties.

Minimum Education & Experience

High school graduation or GED plus one year of experience.

Special Certifications & Licenses

Valid Texas Driver’s License

Physical Demands

Mostly moderate and fairly steady active physical exertion; may require brief periods of heavy muscular exertion, such as standing, lifting, moving, pulling, pushing, etc. Ability to exert up to 35-50 lbs. of force occasionally or a negligible amount of energy frequently to lift, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Responsibility for Equipment & Property

Responsible for high-risk or valuable items, such as big, expensive equipment, including light and heavy machinery, plant equipment, multiple computers and computer networks, etc.

Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to outdoor elements; job often (several times per week) exposes person to physical danger; serious space problems; frequent situations that cause stress and tension in the execution of regular duties.
