Job Summary
The Recreation Attendant is to monitor the athletic facility area and to arrange and run all recreational activities. The Recreation Attendant is responsible for ensuring safety through supervision, preparing activities and games, and maintaining the cleanliness of facilities. The Recreation Attendant works according to set procedures under direct supervision of the Athletics Coordinator.

Key Functions/Knowledge/Skills
• Opens and closes the Recreation facilities.
• Sets up and monitors all games, activities, and equipment for patrons of the park facilities.
• Answers the telephone and communicates with the public regarding general information.
• Monitors all recreational activities, events, and games, and keeps track of the number of participants.
• Organizes the equipment room and distributes equipment.
• Sweeps and mops the recreational facilities and restrooms.
• Cleans recreation facilities and performs basic outside maintenance.
• Collects and removes trash from the facilities.
• Performs related tasks as necessary.
Minimum Education & Experience
High school or GED, plus one (1) year of experience.
Special Certifications & Licenses
Valid Texas Driver’s License
Independence & Judgement
Average judgement; must recognize and resolve problems such as bad grammar, type of procedure to apply, where to refer call or correspondence without specified destination. May involve freedom in selection of work methods among approved routines, setting of priorities, or sequencing of tasks within established schedules

Low chance for error because work is routine/repetitive/simple/reviewed carefully; standard procedures: not demanded to come up with creative solutions; refers anything unusual to supervisor.

Physical Demands
Light physical effort. May require brief periods of muscular exertion, such as standing, lifting, moving, pulling, pushing, etc. Ability to exert up to 20lbs. of force occasionally to move objects.
Responsibility for Equipment & Property
Responsible for assigned equipment/property used outside of office; use of a City vehicle.
Working Conditions
Fair inside or outside conditions; exposure to outdoor elements is brief.
Other Requirements
